I entered a scone baking competition at my church today.

And won it!

As today is Good Friday our pastor thought it would be fun to have a scone competition so there would be plenty of scones for lunch after the service today. Good thinking I say!

Pastor Charlie won the competition last year so he was crowned Scone King and judged the offerings today.

I very cheekily told everyone as I walked in with my scones that I had brought the winning scones with me, but I was pleasantly surprised when that proved to be the case!

I had never made this particular recipe before, in spite of having it for the past couple of years.

I have used a recipe called 'Wendy’s scones' for a number of years now, but decided today that I would try a new recipe. Pravda Cheese Scones.

I was given the Pravda Cheese Scones recipe by a friend a couple of years ago, after enjoying a lovely lunch of them at her home, but never got around to using it.

This will definitely be my new 'go to recipe' as the scones are light and fluffy, and just downright delicious!

All of the scones were quickly scoffed after the judging, and I have to say that the competition…
