The big storm!

So much thunder and lightning!

Boom, rumble rumble! the whole room lit up and the thunder clap was so loud the house shook!

Hubby and I woke up with a start!

What the ding dong?!!

And then the rain came in earnest,

So much rain!

One of the moggies was inside, asleep in front of the fireplace, but the other two were outside. I opened the ranch slider and let a ton of water in, but no cats. So off to the other side of the room I went and opened the front door. Two rather soggy moggies came bolting inside and ran straight to the bedroom and hopped up on the bed.

It would appear that they didn’t appreciate the rain at all, and were rather pleased to be let inside.

All this happened at around 3am. When the alarm finally went off at 6am, it was on the battery backup as the power to the house had briefly gone off.

The power flicked on and off a few times before deciding to stay on (thank goodness as we have no generator here), and has stayed on the the rest of the day, so far!

After hubby and I had breakfast, he left for work and I went for a wander around our little piece of paradise to see if anything had been washed away.

Boy, was I in for a surprise or two!
